Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Band 7 Sonographer to join the Maternity and Gynae Team in Reading on a locum basis. The role offers flexible hours and a negotiable hourly rate based on experience across multiple sites.

The post requires HCPC registration, NHS experience, and a Degree in Radiography with a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound. Immediate availability and a driving licence are desirable to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is essential.
• Minimum of two years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the NHS.
• Degree in Radiography and a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound.
• Strong experience in maternity and gynaecology ultrasound scanning.
• A driving licence is desirable due to travel between multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed maternity and gynaecological ultrasound scans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with NHS standards.
• Interpret ultrasound findings to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, explaining procedures and providing reassurance.
• Ensure ultrasound equipment is used safely and maintained to high operational standards.
• Follow infection control and clinical safety protocols at all times.
