Overview

As a Sonographer at Heartlands Hospital Birmingham, you will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations critical to the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients across diverse clinical specialties. Utilizing the latest sonographic machines, you will acquire and interpret detailed images of abdominal, vascular, and musculoskeletal structures, ensuring precision and diagnostic accuracy. You will prepare and position patients, provide clear procedural explanations, and maintain strict adherence to hospital protocols and infection control standards. Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to patient care plans by providing timely, accurate diagnostic ultrasound reports. Your role demands expert knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and sonographic principles, alongside professional certification and commitment to continuous professional development. This position is pivotal in supporting clinical decision-making and enhancing patient outcomes in a fast-paced, tertiary care setting.   • The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a highly specialised clinical ultrasound service, ensuring effective patient diagnosis across the UHB NHS Trust.
