We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Senior Research Sister, working with the Core Research Team. The Core Research Team deliver research across multiple specialities, this includes, Endocrinology, Ophthalmology, Sexual Health & Burns to name a few. The portfolio has expanded significantly and delivers studies that examine new drugs and technologies through to observational and data studies.

Main duties of the jobAs a Senior Research Sister/Charge Nurse you will have substantial research experience and be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills. You will be confident in leading a team and have knowledge of managing resources and finances, workforce planning and staff recruitment. Be experienced with line management and able to apply the appropriate HR policies and procedures. Ensuring staff have appropriate learning and development opportunities through the appraisal process.
You will be an expert in setting up and delivering research trials, ensuring that the balanced portfolio recruits to time and target. Have excellent communication skills and be confident in holding discussions with the wider MDT and external partners. You will need to be well organised, and have excellent IT skills, and will be able to effectively present information to colleagues.
The role will require a passionate individual who is a role model to junior staff and can inspire those around them. You will need to be flexible and able to ensure the service needs of the Core Research Team are maintained, this may involve working at other sites.
