Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and Registered Nurse to join the Trust's Corporate Safeguarding Children's Team. Applications are invited from nurses currently working at Band 6 and above. The post holder will work closely with the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children, in a small team, providing effective advice, training, and safeguarding supervision. Responsibilities include contributing to auditing, escalating concerns to partner agencies, monitoring KPIs, producing complex reports, and participating in investigations.

The post holder will act as an expert resource within BHRUT, collaborating with managers and clinicians across disciplines to provide advice through supervision and visibility on wards, ensuring effective delivery of clinical services in line with regulations and contractual commitments.

Main duties of the job
  1. Work with the professional network to make decisions of high complexity, managing associated risks.
  2. Support the delivery and development of improved performance across clinical and non-clinical services, focusing on safeguarding.
  3. Promote quality improvement across all service areas.
  4. Monitor and work with service leads to improve contractual KPIs related to safeguarding.
  5. Lead on specific programmes of work as directed by the Safeguarding Named Nurse.
  6. Provide safeguarding supervision to colleagues with professional registration, holding relevant qualifications.
  7. Deliver training on safeguarding children & adults.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications (Essential): Registered Children's Nurse or Registered Nurse with safeguarding experience (RCN, RGN, SCPHN).

Experience/Knowledge (Essential): Evidence of inter-agency/multi-professional working; experience with safeguarding legislation and processes.

Desirable: Experience in complex safeguarding case management, clinical audits, and delivering safeguarding supervision.
