Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Physiotherapist with proven clinical and leadership skills to join the Physiotherapy Team at South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust. You will be joining a friendly and growing team that will allow you to explore your full potential across sites including Springfield University Hospital and Tolworth Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional leadership for physiotherapy within the Trust.
  • Carriage of a clinical caseload, undertaking advanced, holistic physiotherapy assessments and formulating comprehensive treatment plans for service users with complex mental health and physical health problems across several specialities and settings.
  • Assist with organising and delivering in-service training sessions, supervision and service development projects with the support of the Head of Physiotherapy.
  • Lead by example, setting and maintaining a high standard of clinical practice and professionalism.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of physiotherapy interventions and quality of clinical decision making in conjunction with service users/carers and other professionals.
  • Plan and prioritise the caseload of junior staff and students where necessary.
  • Communicate effectively and sensitively with carers, and liaise with outside agencies as required.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive and timely treatment records in line with CSP standards of practice and Trust policies.
  • Adhere to NHS policies related to clinical governance, safety and quality.
Qualifications
  • Band 7 physiotherapy experience with a high level of knowledge gained through rotations at band 5 and 6 level in a variety of physiotherapy specialities.
  • Advanced, holistic physiotherapy assessment skills with confidence in musculoskeletal and neurological assessment and clinical reasoning.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, able to lead by example and supervise junior staff.
  • Ability to work in a setting where demand fluctuates, therefore highly organised, self‑motivated and resilient.
  • Adherence to Chartered Society of Physiotherapy clinical standards and guidelines, and NHS Clinical Governance and health and safety policies.
  • Valid HCPC registration and commitment to maintaining professional competency through CPD and annual appraisal.
