Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Band 7 Community Occupational Therapist to join the community team in Shefford. This ongoing role offers flexible hours with part-time or full-time options and a competitive hourly rate.

You will deliver holistic assessments for clients across North Bedfordshire, support GP practices, discharge planning and equipment orders, and manage a caseload of 20–25 cases. HCPC registration and a driving licence are required.

What you will do:

• Deliver support to the Community Occupational Therapy service for clients registered with North Bedfordshire GPs.
• Conduct holistic assessments of clients' needs within various settings, including homes and rehabilitation units.
• Advise clients on next steps and order necessary equipment to support their care.
• Demonstrate equipment usage to care agencies and seek advice from senior staff as needed.
• Make appropriate referrals to other services and guide junior staff members.
• Provide support for hospital discharges and rehabilitation units when required.
• Manage a caseload of 20-25 cases, ensuring timely review and follow-up.

In this role, you will handle a variety of referrals such as palliative care, manual handling cases, minor equipment assessments and prescriptions, and initial assessments for major housing adaptations. You must be HCPC registered and have a driving license to cover North Bedfordshire effectively.
