Job description

Band 7 Neurodiversity Children's Occupational Therapist

The successful candidate will work as part of the Neurodiversity Enfield team for children aged 0-6. This multidisciplinary team provides a needs-led, family-centred approach for children with neurodivergent learning needs. The team includes parents, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, paediatricians, clinical psychologists, administrators, the voluntary sector, and educators.

The role involves leading practice, providing specialist support to children and families, liaising with other professionals, and demonstrating a neuro-affirmative attitude towards differences such as autism and ADHD. The post holder will possess advanced expertise in occupational therapy, including managing a caseload, providing second opinions, offering specialist advice, and developing training for families and external services.

Main duties of the job

The position requires an OT capable of working effectively within an interdisciplinary framework, engaging with various professionals such as community providers, speech and language therapists, psychologists, dieticians, paediatricians, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals. Responsibilities include fostering strong relationships, facilitating communication within the team, supervising junior staff and students, and contributing to service planning, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.

Salary: £51,883 to £58,544 per annum, inclusive of HCAS, pro-rata.
