Banding: 7
Location: Sussex
Rate: £26.00 – £30.00 per hour
Working hours: Core hours 09:00 – 17:30

The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 7 Senior Biomedical Scientist in Haemoglobinopathy to work in a busy hospital in Sussex. We are looking for a Biomedical Scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory’s service. This will be a temporary contract with a rate of £26.00 – £30.00 per hour.

What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?

You will process Haemoglobinopathy samples on Tosoh G11, interpret results, and report findings. You will assist with training and competence within Haemoglobinopathy, review relevant SOPs, and help with the day-to-day running of the laboratory for the Ante-Natal Screening programme and UKAS accreditation.

Essential Requirements:

    • HCPC registered.
    • UK NHS or private sector Haemoglobinopathy laboratory experience.
    • Competent in using pathology computer systems.
    • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to work methodically, under pressure, and adapt to changing demands appropriately.
