Job Title: Invasive Cardiac Physiologist

Location: Preston, Lancashire

Banding: Band 7

Start date: 28 May 2025

Duration: 3 months

Rate: £40 – £50 per hour

Working hours: Monday – Friday

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Band 7 Invasive Cardiac Physiologist to join a dynamic and forward-thinking cardiology team based in Preston. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional seeking to contribute to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and interventional cardiac services. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the cardiac catheterisation laboratory and ensuring optimal care for our patients through expert clinical practice and leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver advanced cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures, including coronary angiography, PCI, and device implantation.
• Perform physiological monitoring, haemodynamic assessment, and intra-procedural support.
• Work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Participate in quality assurance, audit activities, and the training and supervision of junior staff.
• Contribute to service development and uphold high standards of clinical governance.

Qualifications and Experience:

• BSc in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent qualification.
• RCCP or AHCS registration (or working towards).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in invasive cardiology, including independent practice.
• Proven competence in haemodynamic monitoring and electrophysiology (if applicable).
• Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
