Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Band 7 CT Radiographer in Scarborough to join Imaging and Radiography. This ongoing locum role offers £31 hourly with the option of Full Time or Part Time hours, in a busy NHS CT department across diverse settings.

You will perform CT examinations, assess referrals under IR(ME)R, administer contrast, supervise Band 5/6 radiographers, and contribute to audits and service improvements while enjoying work-life balance and professional development.

Qualifications

• BSc Hons Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Postgraduate qualification or significant specialist training in Computed Tomography.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Cannulation and intravenous contrast administration competency.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of complex CT examinations including trauma, cardiac, angiography and contrast-enhanced studies in accordance with agreed protocols.
• Independently assess referrals and ensure imaging requests comply with IR(ME)R regulations and departmental procedures.
• Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patients throughout imaging procedures while responding appropriately to adverse reactions.
• Provide day-to-day clinical supervision and support to Band 5 and Band 6 Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and Trainee Radiographers.
• Contribute to workforce planning, departmental audits, quality assurance programmes and service improvement projects.

Education

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

• BSc Hons Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent recognised qualification.


• Postgraduate qualification or significant specialist training in Computed Tomography.


• Evidence of continuing professional development.


• Cannulation and intravenous contrast administration competency.

Registration and Compliance:

• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council HCPC.


• Thorough understanding of Ionising Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations IRMER.

Experience:

• Significant post-registration NHS Diagnostic Radiography experience.


• Proven experience working within a busy NHS CT department.


• Experience supporting trauma, emergency and acute imaging pathways.
