Job summary
Band 7 Registered Senior Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner - CAMHS Outpatients & LD.
This is a full time post but part time will be considered for the successful candidate. Candidate must hold a registered core profession.
We are seeking an experienced registered practitioner knowledgeable & trained within the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework of care, to join our established team in CAMHS LD to expand & embed PBS into the CAMHS outpatient services.
The successful candidate will work alongside the CAMHS LD PBS lead to develop & deliver a variety of training programmes for staff, parents & professionals.
In addition they will be working directly with CYP & their families, to aid in enabling them to fully understand the needs & difficulties of the young person, the impact their diagnosis & life experiences have upon them & how these are mitigated through the use of behaviours of concern.
Direct work will include assessment & planning under the PBS umbrella, psycho education for the young person, their families / carers & on occasion, short term direct input with the family/young people and provide guidance to learn and use the strategies required.
This exciting new development will be under the management of the established CAMHS LD/PBS enabling a wide range of experience & skills to be learnt & built upon.
Main duties of the jobTo work alongside the CAMHS LD PBS lead, to ensure the development and implementation of a high quality, specialist Positive Behaviour Support service, to children, young people and their families under the care of CAMHS Outpatient Service.
To work autonomously as a specialist clinician to hold clinical cases, provide assessment, planning and delivery of therapeutic interventions to children and young people with mental health problems, ASD, IDD and behaviours that challenge.
To provide consultation and clinical expertise to other CAMHS clinicians involved with CYP, social care colleagues, health and education professionals and others as appropriate.
To help lead on the development of expertise in PBS and patient and family focused clinical practice within CAMHS in accordance with STOMP / STAMP and transforming care for people with autism / Intellectual developmental disability.
To provide specialist clinical supervision and mentorship for PBS clinicians in addition to provision of in-service training for the outpatient team.
To provide training and clinical supervision / mentoring for clinicians within Outpatient CAMHS in relation to the understanding and implementation of PBS plans for individual CYP within CAMHS.
To work alongside the CAMHS LD PBS lead to develop and implement parent/carer workshops.
