Job Description:

The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is recruiting for a Band 7-8b Clinical Scientist or Consultant Clinical Scientist in Genomics to work in a busy NHS Hospital in West Yorkshire. We are seeking a Clinical Scientist who can make a significant impact on the hospital’s Genomics Service.

Banding: 7-8b
Location: West Yorkshire
Hours: 37.5
Duration: Ongoing

Role Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Scientist in Genomics, you will be responsible for delivering laboratory scientific services for specific diseases and other areas as required. You will validate results generated by laboratory staff, ensure internal quality control, and maintain high standards in laboratory testing and reporting, following best practice guidelines, NEQAS, clinical and internal audits, and UKAS standards.

Essential Requirements:

  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist
  • First Degree in a biological subject with a strong Genomics component
  • Masters-level qualification and knowledge
  • Part 1 fellowship of the RC of Pathologists (desirable)
