Start Date: 28th October 2024
End Date: 29th November 2024 (potential for extension)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (flexible, open to part-time/full-time)
Rate: £30:00 – £34:00 per hour

Job Description:
The Portland Hospital is seeking an experienced Band 7/8 Locum Senior Dietitian to join our dedicated paediatric team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive dietetic care to children with complex needs, ensuring that their nutritional requirements are met effectively.

Key Responsibilities?

As a Band 7/8 Locum Senior Dietitian you will perform detailed nutritional assessments for paediatric patients, focusing on those with complex neuro conditions. You will develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans, ensuring they are appropriate for each child’s specific needs. You will provide expertise in Parenteral Nutrition (PN) management, including preparation and monitoring. You will utilize ketogenic dietary approaches as required for relevant patients. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and facilitate seamless communication regarding care plans. You will maintain accurate documentation of assessments and interventions, adhering to HCPC standards. You will participate in departmental meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives as needed.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience in paediatric dietetics, particularly in managing complex neuro conditions.
  • Proficiency in Parenteral Nutrition (PN) protocols and ketogenic diet management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a diverse caseload efficiently.
  • Flexibility to accommodate various working patterns (part-time or full-time) based on service requirements.
