Band 6 Team Lead - West Somerset District Nurses

Are you a qualified or newly qualified nurse looking to advance your nursing career? Our nurses are real-life healthcare heroes, and we are seeking compassionate individuals with hospital experience to join our integrated trust. This opportunity is for Surgical or Medical Nurses across Somerset, with options to work at Musgrove Park Hospital, Yeovil District Hospital, and community hospitals—your preference!

As a fully integrated trust, we offer a collaborative career approach, including opportunities to rotate across sites and directorates to broaden your skills and knowledge. We highly value our RGNs, and development and training will be prioritized. Hours are flexible over a rota, including nights and weekends, with full-time and part-time options available.

You will need good communication skills, a team-oriented approach, and the ability to provide high-standard nursing care with team support. Informal visits or chats are welcome—contact us to discuss the role or arrange a visit. This advert is open to registered and newly qualified nurses.

Main Duties of the Job

Provide and maintain high standards of evidence-based, patient-centered care. Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and develop practical skills within the specialty, reflecting the philosophy of care. Deliver daily patient care using departmental systems for multidisciplinary, patient-involved care, aligning with the Trust’s patient and public involvement strategy. Experienced Band 5 post holders will also provide clinical and managerial leadership in the absence of senior staff, empowering team members to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care.
