Job Title: Speech & Language TherapistBanding: Band 6Location: TauntonStart: ASAPSalary: £36,000 – £42,000Working hours: Monday to Friday

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech & Language Therapist to join our team in Taunton. This role involves working in a private, purpose-built 75-bed hospital in Wellington (Somerset) for men and women with mental health problems. You will lead group therapeutic sessions, helping individuals develop and improve their speech and communication skills. By building one-to-one rapport with service users, you will encourage engagement and empower recovery.

What will your responsibilities be:

  • Assessment and treatment of dysphagia
  • Managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans
  • Undertaking audits and contributing to research in the provision of treatments
  • Utilizing specialist skills in dealing with complex cases, cultural and linguistic differences, and generating appropriate strategies for caseload management

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • HCPC registration
  • Experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia
  • Experience of working with families
