The AHP team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech & Language Therapist to join our team at an independent, specialist day school in Walsall. Our clinicians are fulfilled by the idea of affecting even the smallest positive changes in our young people, so we celebrate the little things.
Our purpose-built, brand new, state-of-the-art school caters primarily to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, as well as children with autism who have moderate speech and learning needs. The school provides education for up to 72 children aged 8 to 16.
Role Overview:
As part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team, you will support educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments. Based on clinical assessment and formulation, you will offer individualized interventions and engagement to our young people.
Our Speech & Language Therapists work collaboratively within our schools and children’s homes, ensuring that therapeutic support permeates every aspect of the education, care, and support we offer. You will provide consultation, workshops, training, and guidance to the educational and residential teams around our children.
Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist:
You will conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized therapy plans for children with SEMH issues and autism. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create therapeutic environments, providing consultation and training to staff. You will engage with children to promote communication skills and adapt approaches to meet diverse needs. You will participate in professional development, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with policies. You will advocate for children’s needs, support families, and foster a positive, inclusive environment.
