Job Title:Speech & Language TherapistBanding: Band 6Location: LiverpoolSalary: £34,000 – £39,000Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00am-16:00pm

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech & Language Therapist to join our team in Liverpool. This role involves working in an outstanding community special school that provides the highest quality of education for just over 270 students aged 3-19 living with Autism and a range of associated communication, interaction, social, imagination, sensory, and learning differences. You will work autonomously in Speech and Language therapy, assessing, planning, developing, and implementing treatment plans, and evaluating outcomes to ensure the best possible support for the students.

What will your responsibilities be:

• Assessing, planning, developing, and implementing speech and language therapy treatment and evaluating outcomes, including reporting on the impact of speech and language provision
• Providing feedback to a range of professionals and families regarding therapeutic support being given
• Supporting the development of a tiered whole-school approach from point of referral, intervention, and discharge for all students
• Introducing, training, and supporting staff to assess the social communication skills, emotional regulation skills, and transactional supports needed for each student
• Attending and contributing therapeutic advice to annual reviews of children and young people with EHC Plans
• Attending professional meetings, including Multidisciplinary Team meetings, Class Team meetings, Care and Safeguarding meetings, and family meetings

Qualifications and Experiences:

• HCPC registration
• Experience working with students and young people with autism of various ages
• Experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
