Job description

The BHFT CYPIT service is an integrated Children's Therapy service, shaped around the needs of the child and family. We are structured within integrated teams, based around a locality area of Berkshire, and work closely together where appropriate, to ensure we have the greatest therapeutic impact, working either directly or through other people.

Main duties of the job
  1. Work as part of the Children and Young People's Integrated Therapy team under the direction of a Band 7 Operational Lead. You will function as an autonomous clinician with a role in supporting the delivery of the new CYPF model.
  2. Take responsibility for the planning and management of your own caseload and interventions, and support/supervise the planning of caseload management of Band 5 and other junior staff members within the designated locality area.
  3. Deliver a high standard of speech and language therapy care to children and young people, including those with complex needs. This could be in various settings, including clinics, early years settings, homes, mainstream schools, and special schools. You will demonstrate high-level problem-solving, reasoning skills, and independence of judgment, using evidence-based and person-centered principles.
  4. Contribute to our integrated model of service delivery and the development of integrated working.
  5. Ensure effective outcome measures and evidence-based feedback are provided to evaluate therapeutic input.

Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • An understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people.
Travel
  • A car is needed for community work.
Qualifications
  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent.
  • Registered with HCPC.
