Our independent specialist day school in Wakefield, recently rated Outstanding by Ofsted, is seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. We cater to a diverse group of pupils with special educational needs, including speech, language and communication difficulties, autism, ADHD, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.
Role Overview:
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be a crucial part of our multi-disciplinary clinical team, supporting educational and residential colleagues to create therapeutic living and learning environments. You will provide individualised interventions based on clinical assessment and formulation, ensuring that therapeutic support permeates every aspect of the education, care, and support we offer.
Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist:
You will collaborate within our schools and children’s homes to provide comprehensive therapeutic support. You will offer consultation, workshops, training, and guidance to educational and residential teams. You will support teams around each child to ensure clinically informed living and learning environments. You will engage and deliver therapeutic interventions to children and young people with complex needs.
