Role:Speech & Language Therapist
Banding: Band 6

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £28,313 – £45,879 per annum

The AHP team at Pulse is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech & Language Therapist to join our team in Birmingham to support children and young people aged 7 to 19 years. Our multi-disciplinary team is committed to helping our students, who face social emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), ADHD, autism (ASC), communication and sensory difficulties, attachment difficulties, childhood trauma, and moderate learning difficulties (MLD), achieve excellent outcomes in preparation for adulthood.

Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist:

You will provide tailored therapy services to pupils based on their clinical needs, working closely with the school’s clinical team. You will engage in multi-disciplinary meetings, staff meetings, supervision, training, and annual appraisals. You will identify speech, language, and communication difficulties or disorders, assessing their cause and nature. You will develop and deliver effective therapeutic programmes, working one-on-one or in groups to maximize each young person’s improvement. You will plan and conduct training sessions for staff and parents/carers as needed.

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration
  • Experience with young people who have neurodevelopmental disorders
  • Experience working with young people with developmental trauma within a Trauma-Informed Model
  • Skilled in both individual and group interventions
  • Ability to drive
