Our Bank Office offers you the opportunity to work flexibly as a member of Bank Staff at the Trust.

Many transferrable skills and experiences from various clinical settings are relevant to this post. Applicants need knowledge, skills and experience of working with people who have dysphagia and communicationneeds.

Working as bank staff means that you can work up to 48 hours a week, or as few hours as you want a week, which is great if you're wanting to gradually return to work after a break, try working in a different service, gain experience, work extra hours or take advantage of a new opportunity.

You'll have access to all the training you need to keep your skills up to date and develop new ones, and you can choose to increase or decrease your hours to best suit your needs.

Main duties of the job
  • To provide SLT specific assessment, formulation, and care/treatment planning for a designated caseload using evidence based/person centred principles.
  • To monitor and evaluate SLT treatment plans and interventions in a variety of settings.
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records in line with data quality guidance, legislation, and policy.
  • To work flexibly to meet service requirements.
  • To work within the professional codes and conduct and Trust/Directorates Policies and Procedures.
  • To be personally responsible for maintaining professional HCPC registration
  • To contribute to the maintenance of a safe environment in accordance with Health & Safety legislation.

Training and Qualifications
  • Degree
  • Registered member of HCPC and RCSLT
  • Further training in mental health
Knowledge & Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of dysphagia assessment and therapeutic interventions /management for adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health difficulties
  • In-depth knowledge and skilled use of communication assessment and therapy applications relevant to client group
  • Evidence of ability to manage specialist caseload independently and prioritise tasks appropriately
  • Flexible approach to working practice
Experience
  • At least 2 years' experience working as an SLT
  • Experience of working with adults with mental health needs
  • 1 years' experience of dysphagia practice
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
  • Experience of working with autistic clients and people with learning disabilities
  • Involvement in the development and delivery of training packages
Other
  • Commitment to client-centred practice
  • Ability to travel independently between sites to meet service needs
