Person specification
Qualifications / training
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC license to practice
  • Registered with Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Dysphagia Post Graduate Qualification
Experience
  • Experience as a qualified therapist with significant relevant experience in specialist area.
Skills/knowledge
  • Competent to use evidence base to inform clinical practice in a specialist area.
  • Knowledge of the needs of a diverse population and the impact on communication and swallowing problems.
  • Competent to develop specialist programmes of care.
  • Competent in developing empathy, negotiation and influencing skills with emerging clinical leadership.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and overcomes barriers to communication.
  • Competent in managing and balancing a range of risks to maximise patient care.
  • Competent in writing clear reports and notes to a professional standard.
  • Competent in using alternative means of communication appropriately for care group.
Other job requirements
  • Is able and willing to move around the city.
  • Must have a full driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Is able to carry a variety of equipment between locations safely.

In accordance with UK Home Office requirements, Band 2 clinical and non-clinical roles and Band 3 Non-Clinical roles are not eligible for sponsorship.

Please note that the majority of non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Band 3 - 5) with the exception of those which appear on this list - link , will not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK.

All non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Bands 6 - 9) that meet the prescribed salary threshold will be eligible for sponsorship.
