Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and patient-focused pharmacy technician to lead and manage the pharmacy technical service to our hepatology directorate and ward at Royal Free Hospital.

The post holder will consistently work in an accurate, effective and efficient manner to support the provision of a high-quality service to patients and trust staff. They will be part of a high performing team that is expected to demonstrate the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust values and behave in a way that demonstrates commitment to the delivery of respectful and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide a vital role in delivering a comprehensive pharmacy service and be responsible for all technical aspects of medicines management.
• Counselling patients with a focus on facilitating seamless discharges on the hepatology ward and effective management of stock at ward level.
• Utilise medicines optimisation skills including completing medicines reconciliation, timely supply of medicines and regular review of all stock lists to improve stock holding efficiency.
• Contribute to the safe delivery of complex, high-risk medications in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

The Hepatology service at the Royal Free London NHS Trust is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the UK. We are a tertiary Liver Transplant centre providing specialist care and, with the evolution of networks, we are the hub centre for Viral Hepatitis, Autoimmune Hepatitis and Wilson\'s disease.
