Job description

Job overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Specialist Practitioner to join our team. This role offers a new challenge within an ever-evolving service.

The S.Glos intensive team provides an excellent environment for developing clinical skills and leadership abilities, particularly due to the fast-paced and high-acuity nature of the service. The team has supported many clinicians with personalized training, leading to promotions and new opportunities within the team. The Band 6 clinician will work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and a minimal number of night shifts. Flexible working options are available, and part-time applications are encouraged.

Main duties of the job

The role involves delivering comprehensive mental health assessments across various situations and locations, including emergency responses for distressed and crisis-affected service users.

There will be a thorough induction and a supported transition period to facilitate adaptation to the role.

This position is also open to newly qualified social workers. According to AWP trust policy, all newly qualified social workers (NQSW) will initially be recruited at Band 5, regardless of the advertised role banding. NQSWs are expected to complete their ASYE within 2 years, with possible extensions in exceptional circumstances.

If appointed to a Band 6 role, progression to this level will be automatic upon successful completion of the ASYE. If appointed at Band 5, candidates will be eligible to apply for Band 6 vacancies after successful ASYE completion.
