Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking a bank senior speech and language therapist to support the children’s service with self-booked shifts and hybrid working from a Surrey-wide hub. The role focuses on school-based assessments and diagnostic input for children with complex communicative needs, accompanied by therapy planning and family support.

HCPC registration and at least two years post-qualification experience are required, with opportunities to deputise for Band 7 and contribute to service

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Post-qualification SLT experience (2+ years) is essential.
• Knowledge of ASD strategies and interventions (PECS, SCERTS, ADOS).
• Member of RCOT or relevant professional body preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out school-based assessments as part of a multidisciplinary team for children and young people.
• Conduct and interpret complex assessments, contribute to diagnoses, set therapy goals and referrals.
• Deliver and adapt individual and group therapy across home, clinic and education settings.
• Provide support and advice to families, carers and other professionals with empathetic practice.
• Attend multidisciplinary meetings and contribute specialist advice.
• Share information about children's difficulties, progress and expectations with transparent documentation.
• Plan, organise and manage therapy services, including supervision and appraisals of staff and students.
• Apply clinical reasoning to develop and adapt therapy plans and evaluate outcomes.
