Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT) invites applications for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6) based at Parkview. The role involves assessing and managing speech, language and communication needs in children and young people with complex mental health presentations across General Assessment, Eating Disorders Ward and Low Secure Unit.

• Support autistic presentations and complex mental health needs across Parkview units (General Assessment, Eating Disorders Ward, Low Secure Unit).
• Advise and provide clinical support to SLTs elsewhere in the service.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for aSenior Speech and Language Therapist Band 6, based within Parkview, supporting children and young people with complex mental health needs across our general assessment unit, Eating Disorders Ward and developing Low Secure Unit. This exciting role involves the assessment and management of speech, language and communication needs, including supporting young people who are autistic and with complex mental health presentation. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure communication needs are identified and addressed to support engagement, therapeutic outcomes and patient care. To provide an effective Speech & Language Therapy Service for young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs, with reference to Trust and Speech & Language Therapy Service policies and procedures and also professional standards set out by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Health & Care Professions Council. To assess, treat and manage own caseload of children and young people and to maintain associated clinical records. To advise and provide clinical support to other speech and language therapists, this may be in a specialist area. To supervise the work of assistants, students and other less experienced therapists.
