Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join acute inpatient services at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. This locum role offers ongoing support across medical wards for adults with dysphagia and communication disorders.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, start ASAP, initial 3-month contract with potential extension, HCPC registered, with experience in acute inpatient care and videofluoroscopy desirable.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership
• Experience in acute inpatient care
• Strong communication and clinical reasoning

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment and management of dysphagia and communication difficulties
• Deliver therapy across inpatient wards, adapting to caseload demands
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards
• Flexibly support additional inpatient areas when required
• Utilise advanced competencies such as videofluoroscopy (desirable) and tracheostomy (desirable)
