We have multiple positions available for enthusiastic, innovative, and self-motivated Dietitians to join our successful team. Depending on capacity and funding, there may be opportunities to rotate into other specialisms.

Due to the success of our existing Dietetic Prescribing Support team, which provides enhanced services across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland, additional permanent funding has been secured to expand the team further. You will join our Prescribing Support team, which maintains strong links with the Medicines Optimisation Teams and aims to embed dietetic services within Primary Care Networks.

This role involves a flexible mix of remote and face-to-face duties. We welcome applications for both full-time and part-time hours (minimum 22.5 hours). Applicants must be a car driver with a full UK driving licence and access to a car during working hours. The base location will be agreed based on the geographical area covered.

Job Description: Main Duties and Responsibilities

Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service (Community) employs approximately 80 staff working across primary care, mental health, public health, and home enteral nutrition. The team includes dietitians, community nutritionists, dietetic support workers, and support staff serving the population of Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.

You will be part of the Dietetic Prescribing team, working closely with the ICB Medicines Optimisation Team, GPs, and practice staff across Primary Care Networks to ensure the effective use of oral nutritional supplements (ONS) and adherence to the LLR APC ONS guidelines. The role is evolving, with potential involvement in reviewing other prescribable nutritional products soon.

Your responsibilities include working with GP surgeries and care homes, providing clinical input, training, service evaluations, and development. You will also oversee dietetic support workers, including line management and supervision.

We seek dietitians with excellent communication, organizational, management, and leadership skills to contribute to the expansion of our prescribing team.

The service is committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and offers robust clinical supervision and in-house CPD opportunities. Additionally, the service participates in pre-registration placements for student dietitians undertaking various placements, to which you will contribute.
