Manage a specialist community caseload,demonstrating skills in current assessment techniques (inc use ofneurothesiometers, monofilaments, Doppler etc) and evidence-based treatment ofbiomechanical pathologies, at risk patients (inc. wound care) and nailsurgery.
Work inpartnership with patients and other service users and communicate effectivelyto meet the needs of the recipient in maximising their understanding ofinformation about their (foot) health. To empathetically convey potentiallydistressing information.
Supervise workwith and for Foot Care Assistants and assist with their training anddevelopment.
Identify the local need for podiatry services,evaluate priorities and deliver care accordingly, managing capacity and demandwithin contractual agreements.
Work closely andeffectively with other health care professionals in securing high standards ofcare for all patients, including; Referral onward, Antibiotic cover, Specialistfootwear prescriptions, Recommending further tests and investigations.
