Ward/Dept: CommunityPhysiotherapy Team

Hours: 37.5 hours

Shift Pattern: Mon Fri 8.30-4.30pm

We have a new andexciting opportunity for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our team based inBerkshire.

You will be working aspart of the Physiotherapy Rehabilitation team with responsibility for your owncaseload, without direct supervision, supported by the Team Lead. This willlargely entail visiting patients in their own home and providing some cover forthe Physiotherapy activity within the Assessment and Rehabilitation Centre(ARC).

Main duties of the job
  • Undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations / multi pathologies; use advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition.
  • Formulate and deliver an individual physiotherapy treatment programmed based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date documentation, in line with legal and departmental requirements, and communicate assessment and treatment results to the appropriate disciplines in the form of reports and letters.
  • Liaise with members of the MDT involved in the care of individual patients to ensure the delivery of a coordinated multidisciplinary service and integrated physiotherapy treatment.
  • Use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate complex or sensitive information effectively with patients to progress rehabilitation and treatment programs. This will include patients who may have difficulties in understanding or communicating. For example, patients may be dysphasic, not have English as first language, be depressed, deaf, and blind or who may be unable to accept diagnosis or living with Dementia.
