Role: Part-time Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist – Learning Disability
Banding: Band 6
Location: Shrewsbury
Job Type: Part-Time (3 days a week), Permanent
Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 pro-rata (dependent upon experience)

The AHP team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist to join our team in Shrewsbury. In this role, you will work in your own therapy room, providing assessment, consultation, and oversight across our Learning Disability and Autism services.

Role Overview:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be a crucial part of our multi-disciplinary clinical team, supporting educational and residential colleagues to create therapeutic living and learning environments. You will provide individualised interventions based on clinical assessment and formulation, ensuring that therapeutic support permeates every aspect of the education, care, and support we offer.

Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist:

You will assess, plan, and deliver individualized intervention programs for a defined caseload. You will work with children individually or in small groups in specialist therapy spaces and within classroom-based sessions. You will maximize child contact time to achieve the best possible outcomes through a holistic approach. You will work as part of a strong and supportive multi-disciplinary team including Teachers, Therapists, Learning Support Assistants, Educational Psychologist, and Residential Care Officers. You will participate in training, CPD opportunities, and outreach programs.

What we are looking for in a Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the HCPC.
  • A passion for working with children and helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Highly organized and proactive.
  • Enthusiastic and forward-thinking.
  • Experience working with pre-verbal and verbal children with Autism/Severe/Profound Learning Disabilities.
