An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced band 6 senior sexual health nurse to join the team at Florey clinic. We also welcome applications from band 5 nurses interested in sexual health and contraception. Support and training will be provided to suitable applicants to achieve their band 6 role.

The Florey provides an integrated service to Reading, Wokingham, and West Berkshire. The level 3 service is fast-paced, offering a fantastic opportunity to develop within a supportive and friendly environment.

Once Band 5 to 6 competencies are completed

The post holder works as a skilled practitioner responsible for delivering patient-focused care addressing complex health needs related to contraception and sexual health. At this level, the post-holder exercises clinical judgment and decision-making regarding patient needs and long-term plans. They ensure the department runs smoothly in the absence of the Departmental Sister/Charge Nurse, work autonomously in outreach settings, and provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff.

The post holder develops, implements, and reviews nursing care plans, maintains patient records, and works effectively as part of a team. They assist in managing and organizing work, communicate effectively, and serve as a role model supporting and developing students and junior colleagues.
