Qualifications

  • Erforderlich ist die HCPC-Registrierung als Ergotherapeut.
  • Mindestens 2 Jahre Erfahrung, vorzugsweise in der Neurologie oder Schlaganfall.

Job Title: Band 6 Occupational Therapist - Community Neuro

Location: Romford

Contract Type: Full-Time (Part-time applicants will also be considered)

Contract Duration: ASAP Start - Ongoing

Pay Rate: £25 per hour

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 16:30 (30-minute break)

What you will do:

  1. Manage a complex caseload involving patients with neurological conditions and strokes, ensuring each receives tailored and effective treatment.
  2. Conduct thorough functional assessments at patients' homes, crafting care plans that promote independence and final quality of life.
  3. Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, nurses, and social workers, to provide cohesive care.
  4. Deliver targeted rehabilitation interventions to enhance mobility, cognitive function, and daily living skills, using risk assessments and adaptive strategies where needed.
  5. Regularly monitor and evaluate patient progress, ensuring results align with clinical outcome goals.
  6. Uphold meticulous record-keeping that adheres to the standards expected of HCPC and trust policies.
  7. Play an active role in service development through audits, service evaluations, and participation in team meetings.
  8. Offer supervision and mentorship to junior team members, students, or assistants when required.

Requirements:

  1. Must hold professional registration with the HCPC as an Occupational Therapist.
  2. Possess at least 2 years of post-registration experience, preferably with a background in stroke and/or neurology.
  3. A full UK driving licence is essential, along with access to your own vehicle for travel across Havering and Barking & Dagenham due to the community-focused nature of this role.
  4. Demonstrated excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
