Band 6 Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Therapy

The Therapy Inpatients department plays a crucial role in promoting recovery, enhancing independence, and supporting safe discharge for patients with acute and complex health needs.
Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a committed and experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Inpatient Therapy team. The successful candidate will conduct occupational therapy assessments and deliver interventions to support functional recovery and effective discharge planning for patients in an acute hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for a varied inpatient caseload
Formulate and implement goal-oriented treatment plans
Collaborate with patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team to facilitate safe and timely discharges
Recommend appropriate equipment, adaptations, and support services
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Support and mentor junior team members and students
Key Requirements:
HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
Minimum 6 months NHS experience at Band 6 level or above
Experience working in acute inpatient settings preferred
Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and time management skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Additional Information:
Full-time hours preferred (Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30)
