Job description

Are you a passionate and motivated Band 5 or 6 Occupational Therapist looking for your next opportunity? Join our dedicated team and make a real difference in the lives of patients recovering from stroke, managing long-term neurological conditions, and requiring elderly care rehabilitation.

Based on Runfold Ward at Farnham Hospital, Surrey, you'll be part of a 21-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, which includes a minimum of 11 stroke beds and 10 additional beds for neurological and elderly care patients. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative multi-disciplinary team, including Doctors, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Adult Social Care, and Dietitians.

Main duties of the job

Professional responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for maintaining your own CPD, keeping up to date with new research and developments, especially in relation to evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in the development and training of Occupational Therapy assistants.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and annual staff appraisal schemes.
  • Assist in service development projects and audits.
  • Ensure membership of appropriate professional bodies remains current—HCPC—and maintain knowledge of the standards required.
  • Stay up-to-date with statutory and mandatory training relevant to the role.

General

  • This is a varied role requiring flexibility to ensure we provide an equitable service, working with colleagues and line managers to make a real difference to our patients.
  • Depending on experience, this post may require occasional weekend work.
  • The post holder must hold a valid driving licence.
  • We provide support through clinical supervision, in-service training, journal clubs, reviews, and preceptorship programmes.
