Job summary

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Permanent Children's Community Nurse to deliver specialist care to children with complex, long-term needs in the family home. The role involves managing a caseload and working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.

The post requires current NMC registration as a Children's Nurse, a clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Qualifications

• Registered Children's Nurse (RN Child) with current NMC registration.
• Clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience working autonomously and managing caseloads.
• Excellent communication and teamworking skills.
• Experience in community or outreach nursing (nice to have)

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to children and young people in community settings.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care plans.
• Manage a caseload of children with complex and long-term health needs.
• Provide specialist interventions including IV therapy, enteral feeding and ventilation support.
• Identify clinical deterioration and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Maintain accurate electronic patient records in line with Trust policy

Permanent Children's Community Nursing Team post at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, serving children across Redbridge, with part-time working at 0.74 WTE. The nurse manages a caseload of children with complex, long-term needs, delivering specialist care in the family home. Working autonomously, they coordinate with multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams across Barking and Havering. Applicants need current NMC children's nurse registration, a clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
