Job description

Senior SQL Developer

Rate: £175 per day (Outside IR35)

Contract: 6 months (with extension likely)

Location: Fully Remote

We’re looking for a Senior SQL Developer to join a multi-disciplinary development team delivering large-scale digital healthcare systems. You’ll be focused on building and optimising secure, high-performing data structures supporting clinical applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and optimise complex T-SQL stored procedures and functions
  • Create and manage SSIS packages (2008+)
  • Work with structured Scrum teams to deliver SQL components as part of wider clinical systems
  • Participate in performance tuning and database refactoring
  • Collaborate with business analysts and developers to meet evolving system requirements
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Advanced T-SQL and SQL Server Management Studio (2008-2019) (SSMS)
  • Strong understanding of database design, ER-diagrams, and normalisation techniques
  • Hands-on with SSIS package creation and maintenance
Desirable Experience:
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Web APIs, and Agile methodologies (Scrum)
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7 v2.x)
  • Experience with Redgate tools, TSQLT unit testing, and Power BI
  • Exposure to high-availability techniques (e.g. mirroring, clustering, Always On)
