A Vacancy at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.

The Neurodiversity Teamis a multidisciplinary team which is designed to provide a needs-led, family-centered approach for children under the age of six with neurodivergent learning needs.The team includes (but is not limited to) parents, speech and language therapists (SLT), occupational therapists (OT), paediatricians, clinical psychologists, administrators, assistants, the voluntary sector, and educators.The role involves demonstrating a neuro-affirmative attitude to differences such as autism and ADHD. The successful candidate will work closely with Health, Education, Social services and Voluntary services, Community Paediatricians, Therapists, Children with disabilities team, Health Visitors, School nurses, GPs Educational Psychologists and EASA. Initially, the role will be primarily in the diagnostic team, carrying out play-based autism assessments and ADOS assessments. As the service develops, there will be opportunities to explore other roles within the team, such as being a keyworker for a families, running MDT needs-led clinics for parents, and delivering training.

Main duties will be to assess children aged 0-6 for possible autism using the ADOS and/or other appropriate assessment tools and to liaise with the other members of the MDT to consider the correct outcome for the child.To present clinical information and opinions clearly and concisely to other professionals and to give families feedback about the outcome of assessments. You will be required towrite high quality reports to explain the assessment process and outcome.Good understanding of neuroaffirming language and its importance.

In addition to a full range of cancer diagnosis and treatment services, the Helen Rollason Cancer Support Centre is based on-site and provides services to support cancer patients wellbeing. We also provide community services and have a dedicated 0-19 service for children and young people in Enfield so that they can get the best possible start in life. This includes health visitors and school nurses who are delivering the national Healthy Child Programme, which provides a structured framework for the delivery of key interventions to support the health and wellbeing of children and families from 0 to 5 and school aged children from 5-19. The 0-19 service aims to improve pathways and partnerships with services in the hospital and deliver excellent care for the children and families.
