Job summary

An established healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Radiographer to join their Breast Screening Service. Qualifications

  • State Registration with HCPC is mandatory.

  • Assist with procedures and manage imaging in absence of Radiologist.

Job description

RoyalBerkshire NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest general hospital foundation trusts in the country and the main provider of acute and specialist care services for West Berkshire. With seven sites, the Trust employs approximately 6,500 staff and serves a population of around 1,000,000 people.

They provide acute medical and surgical services to Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire and specialist services such as cancer, dialysis and eye surgery to a wider population across Berkshire and its borders.

Main duties of the job
  • You will participate in the provision of a breast screening imaging and diagnostic service for the West Berkshire Breast Screening Service and the Symptomatic Breast Service.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing Screening and Symptomatic mammography including tomosynthesis, biopsy, VAB, VAE and localisation including Magseed.
  • In the absence of a Radiologist use experience and judgement of previous cases to take further images to demonstrate an area of abnormality.
  • Lay-up trolleys for intervention and assist with the procedures e.g. biopsies.
  • You will be required to work within the Radiology Department, the Breast Screening Unit and on the community based Mobile Screening Unit(s).

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • State Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • BSc Degree in Radiography or equivalent radiographic qualification, DCR(R).
Experience
  • Evidence of recent and extensive post-registration experience at Band 5.
  • Proven clinical experience across a range of radiographic equipment and techniques.
