Position: Band 6 Biomedical Scientist – Histology
Banding: 6
Location: Surrey
Hours: Monday-Friday
Rate: £24.00 – £28.00 P/H
Start date: ASAP

The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist in Histology to work in a busy lab in Surrey. We are looking for a biomedical scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory’s cellular histology service. Suitable histology biomedical scientist that can do proficient microtomy.

What will you be doing in this Biomedical Science role?

You will perform microtomy of paraffin blocks, assist the recuts team and embedding, handle a high workload in a busy Histology lab, and cut 130-150 blocks per 7.5-hour shift. Experience with the Winpath computer system is essential.

Essential Requirements for this Biomedical Scientist position:

    • Previous experience working in a UK NHS Histology laboratory is essential.
    • Relevant qualification in Biomedical Science (e.g., BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent).
    • Must be proficient in microtomy, embedding, and staining techniques.
    • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
