Position: Biomedical Scientist Haematology /Blood Transfusion
Banding: 6
Location: Norfolk
Rate: £25.00 – £30.00 per hour
Working hours: Out of hours, full shift rota
Duration: Full time
Start date: ASAP

The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 7 Biomedical Scientist in Blood Transfusion to work in a busy hospital in Norfolk. We are looking for a Biomedical Scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory’s service. This will be a temporary contract with a rate of £25.00 – £30.00 per hour.

What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?

You will perform sample analysis, including routine and specialized tests on blood samples such as Full Blood Count, Blood Grouping, and Coagulation studies. You will analyze and interpret test results, identifying abnormalities, and reporting findings to the requesting clinician. You will conduct quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results. You will operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting. You will communicate with patients and healthcare professionals to explain procedures and provide test results. You will adhere to laboratory protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. You will work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and support junior staff and trainees. You will participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to the development of new testing methodologies. You will engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with advancements in haematology and laboratory technology.

Essential Requirements:

    • Must be HCP registered
    • must have at least 2 years’ experience working within the NHS

    • Morphology experiences a bonus
