Job description

The role of Junior Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse includes specialist clinic skills in addition to managerial responsibilities.

The post holder is required to work clinically within all areas of the Plastic Surgery Department, including:

  • Nurse Led Hand Therapy Clinics
Main duties of the job
  • The assessment of care needs for all patients, ensuring appropriately planned care is both implemented and evaluated.
  • Working with minimal supervision and being designated to take charge of the department on a regular basis.
  • Acting as an effective clinical leader and ensuring the clinical and professional development of all staff for whom they are responsible.
  • Ensuring a safe and clean environment.
  • Supervising and teaching newly qualified and unqualified staff.
  • The postholder will be required to work within all areas of Clinic 4, as rostered, including Nurse Led Dressing Clinic, Trauma Clinic, and Outpatient Clinics.

Salary: £46,419 to £55,046 per year, inclusive of HCAS (pro-rata).
