Job description
Overview

The post holder will be part of the Band 6 junior sister/charge nurses team, providing strong senior leadership and working closely with the Sister/Charge Nurse. The role involves a 7-day rota, 8am – 8pm shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for unsupervised assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of care plans, ensuring high standards of evidence-based care using a defined model of care for patients within the CDC who are unwell or suffering adverse reactions to contrast.
  • Undertake all nursing procedures and practices as specified in the Trust's policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to by all staff within own management responsibility.
  • Contribute toward the development of relevant evidence-based clinical guidelines.
  • Communicate with patients and significant others with empathy and reassurance regarding assessment and care.
  • Provide psychological support to patients and their carers in coping with their illness and treatment, and offer support as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure patients have access to timely, good quality information relating to their diagnosis and actively deliver this information to patients.
  • Ensure patients are discharged from the service in a timely manner and support patients who experience delays.
