Job description

Are you an experienced Biomedical Scientist with Histology expertise seeking a rewarding locum role in Manchester? We have an excellent opportunity with great pay and flexibility!

Job Details:
  • Job Title: Histology Biomedical Scientist Band 6
  • Location: Manchester
  • Duration: 3-month rolling contract
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Rate of Pay: £25-27 per hour DOE (umbrella equivalent)

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform histology lab tests and prepare samples for diagnostic analysis
  2. Carry out microtomy, embedding, and staining procedures
  3. Ensure adherence to high laboratory standards and proper sample handling
  4. Collaborate with senior scientists to ensure regulatory compliance
  5. Contribute to quality control protocols
  6. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient care
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Strong experience in Histology, including microtomy and embedding
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing and specimen preparation techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dedication to high-quality, efficient laboratory services
  • Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided)
Contract Details:

The role is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with some flexibility. The initial contract is for 2 months, with a rolling extension based on performance and service needs.
