Are you an experienced Haematology/Transfusion Biomedical Scientist seeking a new locum opportunity in London? We have an excellent role offering competitive pay and great flexibility!

Job Title:

Haematology/Transfusion Biomedical Scientist Band 6

Location:

London

Duration:

3-month rolling contract with potential for extension

Schedule:

Monday - Sunday, 37.5 hours per week (core hours initially to then be moved to 24/7 rota once competencies complete)

Start Date:

ASAP

Rate of Pay:

£ Competitive hourly rates per hour DOE (umbrella equivalent)

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Haematology/Transfusion Biomedical Scientist, you will be a vital part of a busy laboratory, contributing to high-quality diagnostic services. Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting a range of haematology and transfusion laboratory tests
  2. Preparing and analysing blood samples for diagnostic purposes
  3. Performing blood group testing, crossmatching, and other transfusion-related tests
  4. Ensuring high standards in lab procedures and compliance with regulations
  5. Supporting quality control initiatives
  6. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care
Requirements & Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  1. HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist
  2. IBMS Accredited Degree
  3. 1-2 years of experience in a Haematology laboratory, with Transfusion experience preferred
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  5. A strong commitment to high-quality laboratory services
  6. Full right to work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship)
Working Hours & Contract Duration:

The role operates Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, initially core hours (9:00 - 17:00) to then move to a 24/7 rota once competencies are signed off. The contract will last for an initial 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
