We are seeking a Band 5 / Band 6 Dietitian to join us in the Paediatric Team to manage a caseload of Paediatric patients within the community, including group education sessions, one to ones in community clinics and training of other NHS staff. Whether you are experienced in working with Paediatrics and are looking to develop your career with LPT, or an experienced dietician within a different clinical area, we would value your contribution to our diverse team.

Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)

Leicester Nutrition and Dietetic Community Services multidisciplinary team works across primary care, mental health, public health & home enteral nutrition.

The team consists of dietitians, community nutritionists, dietetic support workers & support team staff covering the population of Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland.

As a member of the Paediatric Team you will be involved in role-modelling & mentoring team members. You will be involved in the treatment of Community paediatric patients

We are seeking a dietitian who has excellent communication as well as organisational, management and leadership skills to be involved in our team.

The service is committed to providing comprehensive CPD and we utilise clinical supervision models to support staff development.

Some of the duties within this role include:

  • working as a member of the primary care dietetic team to provide professional and evidence based dietetic advice to Paediatric patients, parents/carers and staff
  • To manage a Paediatric caseload effectively by working with inpatients, phone reviews, outpatient appointments, attending MDT meetings for patients and making clinical decisions.
  • To promote & be responsible for appropriate & best practice, evidence-based advice.

The post will be based in the Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service Headquarters, close to the M1/M69 junction. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car during working hours.
