Join us for an exciting opportunity as a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist within Histopathology in Edinburgh, UK. This ongoing locum role offers an hourly salary of £40, with both full-time and part-time options. Contribute to a vibrant lab environment and enhance patient care through your skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Specimen receipt, labelling, and preparation including dissection, embedding, microtomy.
  • Perform staining procedures such as H&E, special stains, immunohistochemistry, and assist with frozen sections or OSNA.
  • Participate in quality control, validation, equipment maintenance, and stock management.
  • Supervise and train Band 5 scientists, trainees, and support staff.
  • Engage in digital pathology, UKAS/ISO accreditation, audits, and implement new methodologies or equipment.
  • Contribute to extended hours, weekend shifts, and a 24/7 rota as needed.
