A leading NHS trust in London seeks a Biomedical Scientist (Histology Research Technician) to provide technical and scientific services in amyloid histopathology. The successful candidate will manage patient sample processing and train junior staff. This role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, along with a relevant degree in Biomedical Science. The post holder will act as a Biomedical Scientist (Histology Research Technician) within the Centre, providing high-quality technical and scientific services in amyloid histopathology and immunohistochemistry. They will be part of the Amyloidosis Research and Diagnosis Laboratory Team and work closely with colleagues from both the immediate and wider team.
The post holder will work independently to ensure efficient processing of patient samples, maintaining and troubleshooting techniques as needed. They will also train new and junior staff to ensure competency and maximum efficiency. The role involves performing complex manual, semi-automated, and fully automated laboratory investigations to support a team of clinical scientists, biomedical scientists, and technicians in the Jack O'Neil Laboratory. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential.
The work must be undertaken in accordance with appropriate training, demonstrating competence at all times.
