Band 6 Biomedical Scientist – Haematology

The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist in Haematology/Transfusion. We are seeking a biomedical scientist capable of making a significant impact in supporting the laboratory's service.

Position Details:

• Role: Biomedical Scientist – Haematology
• Banding: 6
• Location: Derby
• Hours: Full-time (9:00 to 17:00)
• Duration: 03/06/2024 – 03/09/2024

Responsibilities:

As a Biomedical Scientist in haematology and blood transfusion, you will be expected to have extensive experience in using analyzers for full blood counts (FBC) and coagulation testing. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting analyzers, as well as loading and operating them. Additionally, you will ensure correct blood typing and compatibility for transfusions.

Essential Requirements:

• HCPC registration
• Microtomy experience
• Experience in UK NHS or private sector Haematology laboratories
• Minimum of 1-year post-registration experience, with experience using Sysmex XN FBC analyzers and Werfen coagulation analyzers
