  • Rate: £24.00 – £30.00 P/H

Job Description:
The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist in Virology to work in a busy NHS hospital in Bloomsbury. We are looking for a Biomedical Scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory’s Microbiology service. This is a temporary position; you will be working core hours with a very competitive rate of £24.00 – £30.00 P/H. You must be available to start as soon as possible.

What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?
As a Biomedical Scientist in Virology, you will use PCR and other molecular techniques to identify significant pathogens. You will also support the senior biomedical scientists in delivering the service and provide guidance to junior members of staff.

Essential Requirements for this Biomedical Scientist position:

  • HCPC registration
  • NHS laboratory experience at a Band 6 level
  • Experience using Qiagen Qiasymphony and Hamilton STAR extraction platforms and ABI Fast 7500 and QuantStudio 5 RT-PCR machines
  • Experience in molecular virology
